VACUUM & UP AIR FUNCTIONS

The SECRET to incredible pressing is the immediate evacuation of all steam from the garment. This, not the iron (although the iron is important), is what allows a dry cleaner to achieve such a crisp press. The purpose of the seam is to relax the fibers to allow for wrinkles to be pressed out (with pressure). The heat of the iron's sole plate is used to dry the steam. If steam remains in the fabric after the iron passes over, the fibers are remain relaxed and do not hold the "press."

The purpose of a vacuum board is to accelerate the evacuation of steam from the garment by vacuuming it out. The results are incredible. (So incredible that we are, in fact, working to develop a video to show the difference.) The evacuation of steam is further enhanced by (1) the mesh design of the iron board which allows steam to easily pass through and (2) the heated surface, which actually heats the high-grade board cover. Combined with the vacuum air function, one is able to effortlessly achieve dry cleaning results at home.

Sartorialist Scott Schuman was so impressed with the results of the laundry at Hotel Principe di Savoia in Milan, that he had the manager take him down to the laundry facility, where he discovered that their secret was (1) a good pressure iron and (2) a vacuum board. THE RIGHT TOOL FOR THE JOB

The secret to great finishing is to keep the ironing table dry by removing the steam from the fabric. Use vacuum for pressing a shirt or putting in a crease, while up-air (blowing) is great for delicates, removing the risk of leaving an impression or crushing the nap.

	TUBE FRAME CONSTRUCTION An ironing board's quality is decided by the way the frame is made. The C30 is made using tube frame construction, which offers maximum rigidity and stability while allowing steam to easily exit.

	HEATED SURFACE To ensure the inside of the C81 stays dry and rust free, a heating element comes on as soon as the power switch has been turned on. This also heats the cover pad, thereby enhancing the press even further.

	LAUNDRY RACK A convenient laundry rack is supplied with the C81. The rack doubles as a catch tray when ironing longer garments like dresses or robes.


	FOLDS UP QUICKLY To save space, the C81 folds up with the pulling of one lever. It will fold down to a very compact 16” x 7” x 55”.
