How to Shine Allen Edmonds Fifth Avenue
In this blog post, we will be showing you how to shine a pair of Allen Edmonds Fifth Avenue shoes. These are a great pair of shoes and one of Kirby’s good friends lent us a pair of his for this tutorial. They were looking pretty rough so we’re going to show you how a good polish and a change of shoelaces can really elevate a pair of Allen Edmonds Fifth Avenue and have them looking new again.
Step 1: Apply Reno’Mat to remove any excess waxes that may be on the shoes
Apply Saphir Reno’Mat in order to remove any excess wax or polish that may be on the shoe. This will allow you to start from the beginning and have no interference with your shine.
Step 2: Apply Saphir Pommadier Cream Polish
Next, apply Saphir Pommadier cream polish to your Allen Edmonds Fifth Avenue. Make sure you have the right color of Saphir Pommadier cream polish and massage it onto the surface of the shoe.
Step 3: Polish with a Pig Bristle Brush
The third step is to buff off any excess polish with your Hanger Project Pig Bristle brush. This will allow you to remove any build up and transform it into a polish. If you want to, apply more Saphir Pommadier Cream Polish onto the vamp and the buff it in again. The vamp is a very important part of the shoe to polish due to the cracking that can form from regular usage.
Step 4: Elevate Shine Using Saphir Pate De Luxe Wax Polish
Apply Saphir Pate De Luxe Wax Polish in a slightly darker shade onto the shoe for a slightly antique look. Make sure to massage it into the shoe in circular motions.
Step 5: Apply Saphir Pommadier Cream Polish and Fiebing Sole & Edge Repair to Edges
Now, apply Fiebings Sole and Edge Dressing onto the edges of your shoes and then follow with Saphir Pommadier Cream Polish in a dark brown shade in order to seal the sole and edge dressing. After you’ve done this, grab a small welt brush and remove any excess.
Step 6: Replace Shoelaces with Sovereign Grade Shoelaces
This step is optional but can completely elevate the look of the shoe. If you have some shoelaces that look as if they’re wearing out or tearing — we offer some great shoelace options on our website.
