Crafted from 18th century Russian reindeer hides so rare that alligator is commonplace by comparison. Russian Reindeer is exclusive to G.J. Cleverley through their relationship with the Prince of Wales.

In 1973, divers swimming near Plymouth Sound bay in England came across the wreck of an eighteenth-century brigantine that sank in 1786. The Danish Brigantine had been carrying a cargo of Russian reindeer hides before a storm struck the ship and the hides wouldn’t be recovered for over 200 years. The infamous hides have been cured in baths of rye or oat flour and yeast, hand embossed with a varied cross-hatching before being soaked in wood liquor, hand cured, then soaked in seal and birch tan oil. This leather is literally a piece of history, and once it is gone, it is gone forever.
